A little bit about me…

I am a Registered Social Worker/Counsellor by trade and a proud mom to three beautiful little girls who are full of personality in my personal life. I am proud to call Lethbridge my home, although I have also lived and worked with the Nuxalk people in the beautiful community of Bella Coola BC in the Great Bear Rainforest. I thrive on social connection and ground myself with a good cup of coffee, surrounded by music and mountains.

I have worked in the human services field for over 10 years and as a therapist since 2017. I have a passion for helping people where they are at, and I feel grateful every day that I am privileged to journey with people during some of their most challenging and perhaps darkest times in life. I believe that people have the power to heal themselves with guidance, compassion, and kindness. I utilize a trauma informed non-judgmental approach to my practice, while I continually evaluate our alignment with the goals that we set at the beginning of the therapeutic process.

I completed my Bachelor of Social Work in 2013 and my Masters of Social Work (Clinical Specialization) in 2017 through the University of Calgary. My experience falls in the area of psychiatric/medical mental health, First Nations clinical therapy, men’s domestic violence treatment, counselling within corrections, housing and homelessness, and disability services. I draw primarily on the following therapies: cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, Aboriginal focusing oriented therapy, and the Gottman method for couples. I am also a trained EMDR ( Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapist.
